Our Hikes Thus Far!

Liam the Explorer sets out on a new adventure!

I'm counting up all the hiking places we've done since we started hiking this year on March 22. All of these are in Northern New Jersey unless otherwise stated.

Mount Tammany
Bear Mountain (NY)
Pyramid Mountain - 2 approaches up the mountain
Turkey Mountain
Bearfort Ridge
Cheesequake (nearer to the shore)
Mahlon Dickerson Reservation
Sourland (central NJ)
Top of Mountain Way - Beacon Hill side and other side (up the road from us)
The Tourne County Park - 2 locations within the park
Norvin Green:
-- Buck Mountain
-- Torne Mountain
-- Wyanokie High Point
-- Wyanokie Crest Trail
-- Osio Rock
-- Mannaticut Point
Farny State Park
Wildcat Wildlife Reservation
Governor Mountain
Monk's Mountain
Long Pond Ironworks ruins
Harrison Mountain
A little bit of Merrill Creek Reservoir
Stokes State Forest - tower trail, Tillman's Ravine
High Point State Park - blue trail
Laontaka bike path through the woods
Silas Condict County Park
Franklin Lakes Nature Preserve
Hacklebarny State Park
Ramapo State Forest - castle/tower trail (coming from 2 starting points), look-out trail

Can you believe these views are in New Jersey?
This state isn't ALL condos, gas stations, and highways!

I feel like there are more... I just can't remember! We've only been hiking 5 months! And many of these have been repeated multiple times, some of them MANY times! We have not gone to a single location without Liam. Occasionally, while he was in school, we'd go on hikes without him, but only repeats of previous hikes with him. He has gone to ALL of these hiking locations - on every trail we've been on!

Looking very proud of himself - as he should be!

What I really wanted to blog about today was our trip to the Laontaka bike path on Saturday (my first hike since tearing my ankle ligaments on August 14) and Cheesequake State Park on Sunday. But since Liam isn't napping today, he's hanging out with me and I can't concentrate on much more than lists at the moment! So I'll post about those adventures ASAP!

Until then, there's also this from the website Fake Science... I laughed pretty hard! Remember our bear adventure? How could you forget? We sure didn't! Though I love bears, I know full well that black bears in particular are walking garbage disposals due to their very long winter hibernation. Enjoy!
